WHAT YOU DON’T WANT VS WHAT YOU WANT 🙏🏼

Recently in coaching sessions, this theme has been coming up a lot (and in my life too, ahem!).

Often when we think we’re focusing on what we don’t, we might be focusing on what we don’t want.

We go:

✨ I don’t want to feel overwhelmed.

✨ I don’t want this person to do x.

✨ I don’t want x problem.

Not only this puts your attention into what you don’t want which creates more of it, your energy goes into fixing problems.

By the time the problem is fixed, there isn’t time and energy left to actually focus on what you want.

There could even be more problems, because the part of you focuses on them also creates more of them which never ends.

These problems don’t actually matter.

What stops these problems happening is you stop putting energy into them.

You know what matters instead deep down.

For example, there’s a part of my Ego that loves to fight.

It goes into creating problems where there weren’t any and when I win them, its this small petty power thing.

Because my Ego believes I’m not powerful, I can’t be in my full power but I can be just a little bit over these fights.

After I fought and all the drama happened, there’s no time and energy left to focus on what I actually care about and what really matters.

Congratulations, Ego has won in distracting me 🤦🏽‍♀️

When I let go of all the drama and ask myself, “What actually matters here?” none of the bullshit does.

Then I can have space for what’s in my heart such as:

💛 Being present spending beautiful time with my family and friends

💛 Channeling my energy and creativity into a creative project

💛 Writing, dancing, resting etc

My question for you is:

✨ Rather than focusing on what you don’t want, where would you love to put your energy instead? ✨

I do coaching around not wasting your time in distractions and actually pouring your energy, time and creativity into what you love 😍
