🌹 SISTERHOOD 🌹
Happy belated International Women’s Day!
.
On Friday, I was so happy to see on social media how women were not just celebrating womanhood but sisterhood as well, appreciating the beautiful women in their lives.
.
Women are powerful on their own, but even more powerful together. Men as well but I’m going to talk about women for a second here 😃 We got 8 months for Men’s Day lol.

(spoiler alert 🚨👇🏼 - Sex Education)
.
Few weeks ago, I watched Sex Education. It’s basically a series set in high school about sex and intimacy. One of the most genius ideas I’ve seen in a long time to make something taboo, mainstream. I fell in love with it. It’s so good, go watch it.
.
In an episode, one of the popular girl’s vagina’s photo is being passed around at school and no one knows its her. The popular girl feels very ashamed and embarrased about how her vagina looks like.
.
Turns out it was her best friend who did it to make her understand how horrible she is to people.
.
Later on, on stage, the headteacher tells all the students sitting in their seats gives a warning about pornographic images being distributed. As he says that this best friend who betrayed the popular girl stands up and says, “It’s my vagina.” The headteacher is a bit shocked, tells her to sit down.
.
Another woman stands up and says, “No, it’s my vagina.” Then another one and another one. One by one, nearly all women stood up to say its their vagina. At some point, even a guy stands up and says it’s his vagina 😂
.
After so many people standing up, the popular girl who was ashamed of her vagina in the first place stands up, holds her best friend’s hand and says, “It’s my vagina.”
.
This is my favourite scene in the whole season. She owns her body and herself. It shows the power of solidarity, how it can heal shame and betrayal between women.
.
.
Other women are not your enemy. You might have felt, women betrayed you, they broke your trust. So did mine. My best friend at high school went out with a guy I really loved right after we broke up. It broke my heart and I couldn’t believe it. I fell out with my friend group as well for a good while as I didn’t want to be around her. It left me with a decision I made not to trust women believing they will betray me.
.
I forgave her and only 2-3 years ago, I geniunely started trusting women and trusting the feminine again. And now I’m so grateful for being surrounded by many beautiful women. All loving, all so generous, inspiring and unique in their own way.
.
When a woman betrays you, it doesn’t mean anything about you. When you decide, “women can’t be trusted”, you close your heart and might become calculated with your words and actions, very controlled and rigid. While protecting your heart, you’re also shutting it down to love, connection and support.
.
Friday evening, I went to Gaia Rose’s women’s gathering. What a wonderful event it was. 6 speakers shared their story in such an open, vulnerable and raw way. I’m so proud of my friend Lauren for sharing her story too.
.
I was in tears seeing that we’re not meant to be like each other. We’re meant to shine in our own unique way. We’re meant to express our truth. We’re meant to lift each other with love and encouragement. In doing that, we allow more women to step into their power and live their truth 🔥
.
There is no comparison. There is no competition. It starts with an open heart, forgiveness and vulnerability 😍
.
To all women, I love you 🌹❤️
