For the last four months, Iโ€™ve been having my period straight after giving breathwork journeys.
.
Itโ€™s as if my body knows Iโ€™m going to chill the next two days and adjusts accordingly ๐Ÿ˜
.
It took me a while to get here though. My periods were a bit all over the place and quite painful. I had no connection whatsoever with my body or my womb.
.
After a lot of time, practice, mistakes, trying again and again, I got to this point of knowing what my body needs when I close my eyes and take a deep breath in.
.
3 things that helped me and many women I know with their cycle:

.๐Ÿ’ซ NO TAMPON ๐Ÿ’ซ
.
Tampon actually has chemicals in it. The insertable plastic tube ones are even further ridiculous disconnecting women from their bodies and perpetuating the belief that there is something dirty and shameful about blood and you shouldnโ€™t touch it. Absolute bullshit.

Mooncup, pads or period pants are great alternatives ๐Ÿฉธ
.
.๐Ÿ’ซ NON HORMONAL BIRTH CONTROL ๐Ÿ’ซ
.
Pills or other similar hormone based birth control methods messes up with your bodyโ€™s rhythm.
.
I said no to a gynchelogist once who said the only way for the acne on my face to clear was to take the pill. I refused and my face cleared in two weeks.
.
As an alternative you can use condoms, Natural Cycles app etc. Check out the alternatives that are out there ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ

.๐Ÿ’ซ SLOWING DOWN ๐Ÿ’ซ
.
After not using tampons and ditching the hormones, slowly, youโ€™ll start to connect with your body more, your intuition will start to sharpen and youโ€™ll naturally want to slow down when you have your period. Patience patience patience ๐Ÿค—
.
This is the cool part: You can access truth and wisdom so much easier. You let go easier.
.
All I do now on my period day 1 is to write, read, take a bath, sleep, cry, get guidance and realisations. I get the whole download of what I need to do in my life. I love it ๐Ÿ˜
.
Of course, things donโ€™t always line up nicely for you to have 2 days of doing nothing. There are kids, work, things to do etc.
.
If you have to do something, rather than abandoning your bodyโ€™s needs and not explaining anything to your body, you can place your hands, talk to your womb and say, โ€œHey Iโ€™m so sorry but we need to do this. Then weโ€™ll chill.โ€
.
Stop ghosting your body basically ๐Ÿ˜‚
