πŸŒ€ HOW TO GET INTO YOUR CREATIVE FLOW πŸŒ€

A client asked me yesterday morning what my process is in writing posts.

.

You can apply this to any type of creation: writing, making a video, painting etc.

.

Here are the 3 steps I follow:

.

.

1️⃣ INSPIRATION

.

I open myself up to receive inspiration. Inspiration is everywhere when I look for it.

.

It can come from a chat I have with a friend, from something that happens in my life or a theme that comes up in a coaching session.

.

I write that down as a theme in the notes section in my phone.

.

This is to open a tab and allow it to load.

.

.

2️⃣ STEP IN & RECEIVE

.

When I have the time, I decide to write about the topic.

.

I open the notes. I close my eyes. Take a deep breath. I notice what I’m thinking and feeling. Then I imagine a golden circle around the post I want to write.

.

I imagine the post as already written. I step into the circle and become one with the energy of it.

.

I notice what I observe. Sometimes I get words, sometimes a feeling or sometimes a metaphor.

.

I open my eyes and start writing.

.

If I get nothing, I still open my eyes and start writing even when it feels like I’m writing shit.

.

I just keep going. As I keep going, more comes.

.

I rarely start from the beginning of the post. I start from the middle to the end, then change things around and the beginning is often what I write the last.

.

.

3️⃣ KEEP GOING

.

If I get stuck after having written for a bit, I close my eyes and step back into the circle.

.

I get what I get and keep going.

.

In the end I ask, β€œIs there anything else?”.

.

I keep going until it’s complete.

.

Often, as I write, I tend to go in all tangents of new ideas.

.

This is just how my Ego works, in lots of distractions.

.

I take all those tangents and create a new note for them to be a future post.

.

I stick to my topic by asking, β€œDoes this belong to this post?”

.

If I get a weak energy, I move it to another note.

.

.

4️⃣ COMPLETE

.

As I write, I can feel the energy of the post gets closer to completion.

.

I get more of a knowing, some people are more visual or they hear more.

.

When I feel it’s complete, I take a deep breath and read the whole post from the start to beginning.

.

I notice if anything jumps out or any paragraph needs tweaking or changing places.

.

Sometimes I write the whole thing in half an hour and it’s done.

.

Sometimes I write the initial structure and leave it. I give it a day, come back to it again the next day.

.

This might happen once or 4 times or more than 10 times over a year.

.

I have SO MANY posts laying around waiting to be put out going through so many edits πŸ˜„

.

Sometimes I complete them but I feel scared to post so I go into a perfectionist mode to procrastinate in posting.

.

So I leave it for the following week. I come back to it next week only to read it all again and go, β€œThis is actually fine.” and then post πŸ˜‚

.

.

For example this post, I wrote the whole thing in half an hour. I came back to it the next day, spent 15 minutes on it, then posted.

.

I also have 2 files on my phone for photos. One for white backgrouned ones, one for others in the favourites folder.

.

I put photos in there as I find images from my Instagram scrolls or when I take them.

.

.

Creating is more about making the time to show up, not having the inspiration ✨

.

If you’re feeling stuck in creating and moving forward in putting your thing out there, I do coaching around this.
