✌🏼 DO YOUR MORNING PAGES ✌🏼

I want to share one of the simplest but most powerful tools I came across.

.

Morning pages ✨ They are three pages you write first thing in the morning, created by Julia Cameron.
.
You get up in the morning and write three uncensored pages of whatever is on your mind at the time. You write on a paper, so you can slow down to listen. It could be as random as, “I forgot to buy eggs yesterday, I feel shit, I’m going out of London today yey, I didn’t like what X told me yesterday, what a bitch, I don’t know why I’m friends with her sometimes.” Whatever comes to you, it’s like a brain dump.
.
I started doing them four years ago when it was my last year at university studying architecture. It was a full on year, I had many excuses not to do them. I did them anyway.
.
It allows you to find a still place within yourself, a place you have all the answers you’ve been looking for. It calms down the storms of your mind and brings you back to yourself. It shows you your truth, what matters to you the most. It helps you build your trust to yourself. It helps you surrender to the unknown.
.
It’s not always pleasant, you face and write your darkest thoughts, uncensored. They’re better out than in. As you write, feel fully and allow, you naturally transform them.
.
If you’re a writer, it becomes a warmup for your actual writing. If you’re not a writer, it becomes a clear up of your mind, showing you what’s true. A place where you can leave yesterday and make a fresh start of the day ✨
.
I’m ever grateful for Julia Cameron for this tool which I recommend to half the people I meet now, including strangers on the street ✌🏼
.
This is how I started writing. I loved it so much I kept doing it ever since. I miss days even weeks sometimes but I always came back to it. Some days I write two pages, some days four. I don’t do it straight after I’ve woken up. I used to, now I do it after doing yoga. It feels better for me. Do what feels good for you.
.
If three pages feels intense, start with one. Give it a go for a week, one page a day and see how you feel in the end of the week ❤️ and let me know.
.
Love you 😍
