🙌🏼 15 LESSONS I LEARNT FROM THE WRITERS WORKSHOP 🙌🏼

Over the weekend, I went to Birmingham for the Hay House Writers Workshop, two days of learning about writing, how to get published and so much more 😍

.

It was super inspiring to be around 250 people who love writing. I felt very grateful to receive incredibly valuable information about writing and publishing. Whenever Hay House does an event or a webinar, anything, you can feel their humility, joy for serving and love 🙌🏼

.

I got so much out of it but here are 15 lessons that stayed with me from the speakers. I hope they help you in some way. I feel they’re useful whether or not you love writing and can apply to many things:

.

✨ “If your book is for everyone, it really is for no one. Have one person in mind, write for them.” - Reid Tracy (CEO of Hay House)

.

✨ “What is the thing you’re most passionate about? What book inside you needs to get written now?” - Michelle Pilley (Managing Director of Hay House UK)

✨ “Don’t dilute your story. Don’t dilute your truth. People feel what’s true and what’s not.” - Jessica Huie (author of “Purpose”)

.

✨ “Speak your truth. When you do, those who are your audience will recognise you. Those who aren’t your audience won’t resonate and that’s ok.” - Jessica Huie

.

✨ “Being in the mood to write is a luxury. Any mood is a good mood to write from. You enter your mood like a room. As you write, the energy of the room elevates.” - Julia Cameron (author of “The Artist’s Way”)

.

✨ “When you write, you’re not lonely. What is lonely is a writer who is not writing.” - Julia Cameron (the bomb 🔥)

.

✨ “Needing to have good ideas before writing is a myth. Starting to write creates the flow of ideas.” - Julia Cameron

.

✨ “Vulnerability in writing creates credibility. If you’re bored by your piece of writing, because you’re scared to be vulnerable. What are you afraid of saying? Say that.” - Julia Cameron

.

✨ “God, you take care of the quality. I take care of the quantity.” - Julia Cameron

.

✨ “Write what you need to write and the market will appear.” - Julia Cameron

.

✨ “It’s not about being a great writer. It’s about being a great messenger.” - Kyle Gray (author of “Angel Prayers”)

.

✨ “Share your gifts. It’s not a gift unless you share it.” - Kyle Gray

.

✨ “No one’s going to judge you more than you judge yourself.” - Kyle Gray

.

✨ “Your vulnerability is a strength. Your sensitivity is a gift. Only shield you need is your Soul.” - Kyle Gray

.

✨ “The final step is surrender. Take all the steps then surrender. Let it happen.” - Kyle Gray

.

.

Kyle Gray especially was so geniune, so real, so funny and absolute sweetheart. He has tattoos all over, used to DJ and just proves that you can be anyone and do what you love in your own way. There is no set way of doing things ✨

.

Thank you Reid Tracy and Michelle Pilley for organising and delivering such an inspirational, transformational and powerful event 🙏🏼

.

I was busy taking notes and enjoying that I didn’t take proper photos. So here’s Lauren Love and I after a lunch break, still late but we always have time for a photo 😂
